Unlimited Satellite Phone Airtime!
I did not think I would ever see unlimited airtime in the satellite phone market but Globalstar has announced they are offering unlimited voice and data airtime for a flat monthly fee. New and current customers can take advantage of this new plan by switching their plan over to the unlimited plan. Current customer will not be charged a switch fees.Customers will receive unlimited airtime from anywhere in Globalstar’s home calling area which includes the U.S., Canada, and Eastern Caribbean. Customers can talk as much as they want whenever the want. There will be no charge for long distance from anywhere in the U.S., Canada, and Eastern Caribbean to anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. Long distance when calling outside the home calling area will apply. Roaming outside the home calling area will also apply.
The unlimited plan will have a flat fee of $49.99 a month the first year, $39.99 the second year and only $19.99 a month for the third year.
In May of 2007 Globalstar will be launching from additional satellites to add to their current constellation and then four more satellites in July. This will improve service before the strongest part of hurricane season.
Globalstar is estimating to have they new constellation of satellites in orbit in 2009. This new constellation will greatly improve voice and data service.
