Globalstar Express Data
GlobalCom is now offering the new Globalstar Express Data service which will greatly benefit it current and future data customers. The Globalstar Express Data service will increase the native data speed of 9.6Kbps to speeds which will emulate up to 56Kbps. This is a more usable data solution than the slow 9.6Kbps offered in the past. This will greatly increase the amount of customers using the Globalstar product for data usage in remote areas where cellular and landline service is not available or reliable. This service can be used on both the Globalstar Direct Internet connection (#777) and Dial-Up data users. This subscription based service which utilizes optimization techniques will allow users to send email, browse the Internet and transfer files much faster and efficiently over the Globalstar network. The service is compatible with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, and Microsoft Exchange. The service will accelerate PDF file transfers as well as email attachments including Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel and others.Some of the advanced techniques used by Express Data include:
TCP/IP Protocol Optimization, Persistent Connections, Data Type-Specific Image Compression Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence Based Local Caching and Remote Caching, Entropy Compression, Failsafe Downloads, Ad Blocking, Site Blocking, Windows Optimizations and more.
This service is offered FREE with the subscription to the majority of the current Globalstar Freedom and Liberty plans excluding only the Freedom 50 and Liberty 600 plans. All customers must subscribe to the Globalstar Express Data online before using the service. Once the customer downloads the software and registers for the Globalstar Express Data, the customer simply uses air time while online. The Globalstar Express Data software will always stay current. When you first start Express Data, it will check for any features or updates the may be available. If there are any available then you will be asked if you want to update your product. You do have the option of going to the “Automatic Updates” screen in the product section and have the automatically update.

Globalstar GSP-1600 Hand held phone or GSP-2900 Fixed Phone with version 5.2 or higher phone software version
Globalstar Data Kit
Express Data Software (which can be downloaded or the Data Kit Installation CD Version 1.2 or higher)
Subscription to a Globalstar airtime plan
Subscription to the Express Data Service (which is FREE on the majority of the Globalstar air time plans)
Computer Requirements:
- Pentium II, III, IV Celeron 500Mhz or higher
- 64 MB minimum and 200MB of free disk space
- Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 200, or Windows XP or Mac OS 8 or higher
