Iridium approved
The Edgeport/1 USB-to-serial converter is the only USB-to-serial converter test and APPROVED by Iridium. Using any other brand will risk be possibility of being incompatible with the Iridium data kit. When using an Iridium data kit an Edgeport/1 USB-to-serial adapter is required when a serial port is not available on the PC that would be used with the Iridium data kit. Simply plug the Edgeport/1 into the USB port of a desktop PC, laptop, and gain one high-speed RS-232 DB-9 serial port.
