Inmarsat Satellite Phone Services Team Pulls Together

A large team has been working on the Inmarsat Satellite Phone Services (SPS) project and will continue through until the end of 2008.  This has been an enormous team effort.  They are trying to introduce the most modern satellite fleet with a ground infrastructure network and terminal products supporting SPS.  They have been utilizing different and exceptional skills in cross-border and cross-disciplinary teams.  In Indonesia the teams’ center around the day to day satellite and network operations while in another team there works on constructing a new Network Control Centre in Batam.  The initial service launch is the point of focus in the Philippines. The technical aspects are being handled in London by a group of engineers.  At the time of press there are eight service distribution partners that have been appointed for SPS including ACeS, Chinasat, Evosat, Fono, MCN, MVS, SatCom Global and Stratos.
